Click the Yes button on the User Account Control window. Click the Start button, type cmd in the Search programs and files bar, hold Ctrl+Shift and press Enter. Once it is complete you may close all windows and restart your computer. In order to delete the registry key, you will need to stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection service first. Next, select the Uninstall option and follow the instructions. The UI for Symantec Endpoint Protection is in Programs and Features. The UI of the application is very similar to the one for uninstalling other software. NOTE: It will not show that you are typing anything, but when you click ENTER after typing it, the cursor will move to the next line.ġ4) Be patient while the script runs. It may take a few minutes, but it will tell you when the process is complete. The key is located in the right side of the registry. Click OK.ħ) Next, open your System Preferences, and click on Security & Privacy.Ĩ) If the lock at the bottom is ‘locked’ you will have to unlock it with your computer password (not your ESU password)ĩ) After unlocking, you should see this message. Then close the Security and Privacy window.ġ2) When the Removal Tool Script opens, you will need to enter your computer password. There should be 2 files. Click on mand.Ħ) You may receive this error message. When you get the prompt to Restart, go ahead and restart your computer and continue to Part 2.Ĭlick on CYBERSECURITY link in the menu bar, then select Anti-Virus at ESU.Ģ) Click on the section titled: For Personal Computers at Home.ģ) Click on the link Download Removal Tool for MAC to download the removal tool.Ĥ) Then open your downloads folder and drag the file to your desktop.ĥ) Click the folder on your desktop to unzip the files. Open the trash, click the gear icon and select Empty the Trash.ģ) Click Continue to remove the extensions. Scroll down to find the Symantec EndPoint Protection software. Note: For complete removal, you must complete Parts 1 and 2.ġ) Open Finder, then the Applications folder. Remove Symantec from personal MAC computer.
